The staff
The Régates Royales Cannes are organized by passionate people who have a deep respect for what their predecessors have achieved since 1978.
Jean-Pierre Odéro without whom, nothing would have happened, Jean-Paul Ortelli, Pascal Gard, Gérard Pascalini, and their teams. The successive presidents of the Yacht Club of Cannes during this period who have all had at heart to give their time and the necessary means to the continuation of this adventure:
Nic Johanssen, Jacques Flori, Denis Charvoz, Jean-Claude Montésinos, Jacques Flori again, Jean-Pierre Champion and Jean-François Cutugno.
Each improvement or development is made taking into account the past, not just for the sake of change.
This event is so wonderful that it allows us to find the resources and energy necessary for its organization.
During all the year the team of the Yacht Club de Cannes - employees, members and leaders - meet, think, find the budgets and work to make always better to answer the expectations of the owners, the competitors, the partners...
A few days before and during the week of the regattas, more than 100 volunteers, 20 jury and referees, 20 employees are working hard to organize the regattas at sea and the animation of the village.
We employ professionals for safety at sea. On our side also the SNSM (National Society of Sea Rescue), the fishermen of the prudhommie of Cannes, the Municipal Police and the Maritime Affairs which complete our security device to allow the competitors as well as the visitors to live exceptional moments in full safety.
Of course we have the full support of the City of Cannes and the help of the Chamber of Commerce, port authorities and pilots of the port who intervene every day during our morning briefing to allow us to organize the best competition course according to the weather, the ships at anchor and other imperatives useful to the local life.
For more than 10 years, our partners including "Banque Populaire Méditerrannée" "Marinepool", official partner and title, but also the City of Cannes, the Alpes-Maritimes department, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region and many other partners (see the list) institutional or private as well as our exhibitors, give us the means to organize this beautiful event in the best conditions, without them Les Régates Royales Cannes could not exist.
We have the chance to animate this fantastic team which organizes the Régates Royales Cannes and we are proud to contribute to the development of this wonderful event which will take more and more importance in the local life and which will generate more and more economic activity in the region.
We will also work for the greatest pleasure of the Cannois and the tourists who will do us the honor to come, because at the end of September it is in Cannes and at the Régates Royales Cannes that you must be...
